Company was founded in 1923 by the Bennett family in the United Kingdom. In 1976 the company was sold. At one point the company employed 800 people before it was forced to move it’s production overseas in the early 1980’s. In the late 1990’s the company decided to stop producing and focus on marketing, sales and distribution of the mechanisms.

Today Bensons is represented in four countries on three continents, Holland, United Kingdom, France, United States and Singapore and is the largest distributor of mechanism in the world.
